Insector X

Released in arcades in 1989, Insector X is a side-scrolling shooter that shines with its unique world motivated by insects. Players take on the role of the young protagonist, Amenbow, and face off against a colorful cast of eccentric enemies to rescue kidnapped fairies. A major feature of the game is its comical, warm graphics and character designs, which were quite rare for shooting games at the time. Developed by Hot-B and published by Taito, this title captivated many players with its highly original setting.

Bugroid, the emperor of an insectoid race, has begun an invasion of the human world with his massive army of mechanical insects in a bid for world conquest. To oppose an enemy that conventional weapons cannot defeat, humans created Yanma, an insect-sized Insector warrior. As the sole survivor, Yanma challenges the mechanical insect army to avenge his comrades and save the human world.
