Description

Released by Namco in December 1984 as an arcade title, this action game is set in a future world where computer control has become pervasive, centered around a competitive sport known as "Battling." Players control the Grobda tank—a familiar sight to fans of *Xevious*—and must utilize their energy cannons and shields to defeat every enemy across 99 total rounds. Designed to allow for a complete conquest on a single credit for those with high technical skill, the game is also packed with playful touches, such as messages from the developers hidden in specific rounds.

Story

In the year 20XX, an era where humanity has been freed from machine control, the joy of piloting has transformed into a combat sport known as "Battling." Competitors pilot their own machines, the "Grobda," to destroy enemy machines within a designated arena and advance through the ranks. The player's objective is to master each battle and aim for the top ranking.
