Description

Released in January 1986 as an arcade title by Irem, Spelunker is a cave-exploring action game developed under license from the American company Brøderbund. Players control their character using a four-way joystick, utilizing a gun and jumps to search for keys while aiming to clear stages filled with numerous mysteries. Much like Pitfall II, which was also ported from a home computer game, this title offers the pleasure of exploration, with discovering hidden shortcuts and secret features serving as one of its major appeals. The game consists of four stages in total, featuring a looping design that invites players to challenge it repeatedly.

Story

In search of treasure sleeping within a legendary cave, an explorer sets foot into an unknown subterranean world. Players must overcome the numerous traps and obstacles hidden throughout the cavern, embarking on an adventure to reach its deepest point. The goal is to survive these harsh conditions and arrive at the destination hidden far within the depths of the cave.
