Description

Released by Taito in March 1990, Battle Shark is a pseudo-3D shooting game centered on submarine warfare. The game’s most distinctive feature is its dedicated large-scale cabinet, which offers a highly immersive experience by allowing players to physically look through a periscope to aim and fire torpedoes. With realistic sound effects delivered via speakers mounted on both sides of the cabinet, players must navigate diverse stages involving underwater and surface movement, all while managing a limited supply of ammunition. Following in the lineage of historical classics like Sea Wolf and SubRoc-3D, this title offers a gaming experience that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new.

Story

Set during a fictional Third World War, the fierce fighting on land has expanded into the oceans. It is discovered that the enemy had used fake peace negotiations as a trap, while secretly constructing a massive base on the ocean floor. As a navy sailor, you board the "Battle Shark" and are tasked with breaking through the waters teeming with enemy submarines and warships to destroy the enemy's undersea fortress.
