Description

Released by Namco in July 1980, this monumental arcade title became a global smash hit and introduced "Pac-Man," one of the most iconic characters in gaming history. Players control Pac-Man using a four-way joystick, aiming to clear each stage by eating all the dots on the field while evading four monsters, each with a distinct personality. The game is known for its simple yet profound gameplay, accented by features such as Power Pellets for counterattacks, high-scoring fruit bonuses, and charming "coffee break" intermissions. Over the years, dedicated players have discovered several behavioral bugs, which now serve as interesting historical records that tell the story of the game’s enduring legacy.

Story

Players control a yellow character named Pac-Man and aim to eat all the dots placed throughout the maze. Four monsters roam the maze, and if they touch Pac-Man, the player loses a life. When Pac-Man eats a Power Pellet, the monsters stop their pursuit and enter a vulnerable state for a limited time, allowing the player to chase them for points. Once all the dots are eaten, the player advances to the next stage, making for a simple yet highly addictive chase.
