Released by Sega in 1981, Borderline is an action-shooting game in which players pilot a jeep through a maze-like field on a fixed screen. This title was a pioneer in introducing strategic game design, requiring players to navigate a set route while balancing enemy evasion with fuel management. In the arcade scene of its time, it offered a fast-paced and tactical experience, contributing significantly to the development of many later action games.
