Description

Released by Nichibutsu in November 1978, Moon Base is a title that clearly inherits the DNA of Space Invaders, a game that became a massive social phenomenon at the time. While capturing the original's fervor, it shines with its own unique personality, from the distinctive shape of the player's ship and the frequent appearance of UFOs that fire projectiles, to the inclusion of a high-score ranking board for the top two players at the top of the screen. While techniques like the "Nagoya Attack" remain viable, the game also introduced a groundbreaking and ambitious feature for two-player modes: allowing one player to control the UFOs, effectively incorporating competitive elements into the gameplay.
