Description

Released by Atlus in 1997 and developed by Cave, *DoDonPachi* is a landmark title that defined the modern "bullet hell" genre of shooting games. The game captivated players by fusing the overwhelming tension of narrowly dodging vast patterns of bullets that fill the screen with the deep strategic layer of its "combo system," which challenges players to maintain continuous chains. The precisely calculated aesthetic of its bullet patterns and the exhilarating experience established by this work have exerted a profound influence on the world of shooting games ever since. To this day, its intense gameplay remains as vibrant as ever, continuing to shine as a monumental achievement in the history of retro gaming.

Story

Set in the near future, this bullet hell shooter follows an elite pilot from a special forces unit formed to suppress the rebel army "DonPachi" as they take on a mission to annihilate enemy forces. Players choose one of three fighters and battle their way through, mowing down countless enemy weapons. Developed as a successor to the previous game, *DonPachi*, this title features even more intense bullet patterns and a high level of strategy.
