Description

Released by Nichibutsu in 1987, Legion is a vertically scrolling shooter. The most distinctive feature of this title is its system of connecting "units"—parts of your own ship—to form a formation. This allows players to enjoy changing their strategy by shifting formations based on how they play. As a characteristically inventive work from Nichibutsu, the game captures the intensity of shooters from that era, where players had to overcome relentless enemy barrages with limited resources. It remains a unique and memorable title that helped color the arcade scene of its time.

Story

As the dark reach of the Dark Empire draws near, the player activates the spacetime engine and launches the mecha "Legion." The goal is to use the new "Time Bomb" weapon to manipulate time, uncover the Darkvader's conspiracy, and defeat the Dark Empire.
