Description

Released by UPL in December 1983, Nova 2001 is an omnidirectional scrolling shooter set in the subspace city of "Nova," which is governed by an organic computer. Players control their ship using an eight-way joystick, utilizing both an attack button and a directional lock button to defeat armies of robots closing in from all sides. While each stage is cleared by annihilating all enemies, the game features a tense design where failing to defeat the patrol robot "Leda" triggers the appearance of the boss "M.I." In addition to its substantial 64-stage volume, the challenging stages scattered throughout the game kept players of the era thoroughly captivated.
