Arkanoid

Released by Taito in 1986, Arkanoid is a landmark title that elevated the once-ubiquitous block-breaking genre into a modern action game. After the starship Arkanoid is destroyed by a mysterious enemy, the small escape craft Vaus drifts into an alternate dimension. Vaus must push forward and confront DOH, an energy-based lifeform that stands in its way. Amidst this desperate battle, the player takes control of Vaus to destroy the energy blocks and reach the deepest part of the dimension.
