Exzisus

Released by Taito in August 1987, Exzisus is a side-scrolling shooter that follows the exploits of "Robin," a fighter pilot tasked with purging a mysterious army infesting the Fourth Galaxy. The game utilized the same upright cabinet as Wyvern F-O, which incorporated half-mirror technology to achieve a groundbreaking 3D-like display for that era. Using an eight-way joystick and two buttons, players must navigate four distinct planets—earth, ice, sand, and city—while utilizing a variety of power-up items. The protagonist is Robin, a particularly skilled warrior among the "Cosmo Fighters" known as the "Galactic Cleaners." To eliminate the mysterious army that has infested the Fourth Galaxy and invaded numerous planets, Robin heads into battle alone. The player controls Robin, engaging in fierce combat to restore peace to the galaxy.
