Great Swordsman

Released by Taito in 1984 for arcades, Great Swordsman is an action game that allows players to enjoy various forms of swordsmanship from different eras and regions. Utilizing a two-way lever for forward and backward movement alongside three attack buttons, players must compete to reach five points to secure victory. Between matches—which range from fencing to kendo—the game also features bonus stages where players must deflect incoming arrows. From the shifting point systems in kendo to the high-stakes, one-hit showdown against a Roman gladiator in the final stage, a uniquely crafted combat experience awaits every player.
