Psycho Soldier

Released by SNK for arcades in 1987, this title depicts the battle of Athena Asamiya and Sie Kensou, saviors who rise to face the resurrection of the “Shiguma,” an alien species that once destroyed an ancient civilization. It is an action game characterized by movement via an 8-way joystick and attacks using psychic waves and psycho swords triggered by two buttons. The game garnered significant attention as the industry's first "singing game," featuring vocals provided by former idol Kaori Shimizu. Please note that certain features reflecting the characteristics of the hardware of that era remain, such as discrepancies between its behavior on emulators and its performance on original arcade hardware.

The world has been shrouded in darkness by the evil clutches of the "Shiguma," alien beings awakened from a multi-millennial slumber. Athena Asamiya and Sie Kensou, the "two warriors of light" foretold in an ancient prophecy, resolve to fight using the supernatural "Psycho Power" that dwells within them. To destroy the Shiguma and bring light back to the world, the two embark on an endless journey of battle.
