Description
Released by Jaleco in October 1990 for arcades, Cisco Heat is a police car racing game set in the hilly streets of San Francisco. Players navigate courses filled with sharp, right-angle turns, choosing between two vehicles with different performance characteristics. The game carries over the popular "horn system" from its predecessor, Big Run. Developed by Data East, it features communication-based versus play, allowing for heated races. Notably, players may also experience an interesting quirk where performing a specific maneuver while a vehicle is rolled over allows it to accelerate and recover immediately.
Story
Players take control of a police car and aim for victory in the "National Championship Police Car Steeplechase" held in San Francisco, USA. The goal of each stage is to reach a designated destination within the time limit while navigating through the city and avoiding rival vehicles and civilian traffic. This is a racing game where players must choose from two types of police cars to conquer the streets of San Francisco, known for its intense elevation changes and sharp, angular turns.
