Description

Released by Konami for arcades in April 1985, *Kicker* (known in Japan as *Shao-lin’s Road*) is an action game centered on the protagonist, Wan-Pyo, as he attempts to escape the stronghold of the "Yamucha-dan," the gang responsible for assassinating his master. Players navigate combat using a four-way joystick, a kick button, and a jump button, progressing through the game by meeting specific target quotas set for each level. The game structure consists of two stages per scene, featuring intense skirmishes with minor foes and a boss battle at the end of each second stage. While characterized by its Shaolin-inspired background music and responsive controls, the game also exhibits unique technical traits, such as the ability to maintain a color test pattern while in service mode. Utilize the special items dropped by green-clad enemies and enjoy the rhythmic, exhilarating action of this classic title.

Story

Wang Piao, the protagonist who has mastered the legendary "Chen Family Secret Shaolin Kung Fu," is imprisoned at "Jakenji," the stronghold of the evil "Yamcha Clan" that assassinated his master, Lao Chu. Armed with his lightning-fast kicks honed through rigorous training, Wang Piao aims to escape from the lair of the Yamcha Clan.
