Description

Released in July 1984, Gyrodine is a vertical-scrolling shooter celebrated for its beautiful graphics. Players pilot a helicopter, utilizing two specific buttons—including a simultaneous press function—to strategically deploy homing missiles against enemies. Caution is required, as attacking non-combatant objects results in point deductions and an increase in game difficulty. Developed by Crux, a manufacturer that inherited the technical legacy of Orca, the game also features hidden characters that add an element of playful discovery to the experience.

Story

In the year 2000, State S, plotting world domination through the introduction of alien technology, developed a terrifying secret weapon. Viewing the situation with the utmost gravity, the nations of the world completed the "Gyrodine," the most powerful helicopter in existence, and dispatched it into enemy territory. The mission of the Gyrodine is to rescue an infiltrating spy, penetrate the enemy base, and destroy the secret weapon.
