Spelunker II

Released by Irem in September 1986, this title serves as the sequel to the popular cave exploration action game, Spelunker. This entry introduces a new energy-based system, tasking players with navigating diverse stages—including sunken ships and underwater environments—in a quest to reach the subterranean princess. While the controls mirror those of its predecessor, players must now exercise greater caution: the ghosts blocking the path are shielded by fireballs, requiring a more strategic approach to mobility. Consisting of six stages in total, the game features an intriguing mechanic where specific walls can be passed through, with subtle variations in color serving as a visual guide.
