Space Gun

Released by Taito in 1990, Space Gun is an arcade title that follows in the tradition of the company’s signature gun-shooting games. The game invites players into a gritty science fiction setting where the mission is to clear a space station of invading alien lifeforms, with its substantial, dedicated cabinet design heightening the sense of immersion on the battlefield. The game features a physical lever that moves forward and backward, a mechanically ambitious attempt at the time to heighten the physical experience for the player. With its punchy, grotesque enemy designs and presentations, Space Gun brought a unique sense of tension to the arcade scene of the early 1990s.

In the year 2039, following an emergency distress call from a space station, a special forces operative is dispatched to conduct a rescue and investigation mission. Inside, mysterious aliens have been breeding and attacking the survivors. Players must use a variety of specialized weapons to annihilate the aliens and rescue the people left behind on the station.
