Description

Developed by Toaplan and released by Taito in 1985, Tiger Heli is the inaugural entry in the storied Tiger series. Players control their helicopter using an eight-way joystick to defeat enemies. While the introduction of a bomb for emergency evasion was ground-breaking, the game also carried a unique sense of tension, as being struck while holding a bomb would result in an immediate self-destruct. The ability to engage in battle while equipped with up to two option units is another compelling feature, and the visual presentation during the post-game naming screen, where the background scrolls alongside the BGM, has left a lasting impression on many players. Notably, the upright cabinet version of this game features a unique setup in which both players share the same control scheme as the P1 side.
