Description

Released by Nihon Bussan in 1985, Terra Cresta is a vertically scrolling shooter that inherits and expands upon the gameplay of the legendary classic Moon Cresta. Its most significant feature is the "formation docking system," which allows players to collect parts dropped by defeated enemies to dock and upgrade their ship across five stages. Beyond the thrill of seeing the ship change shape and increase its firepower, the strategic depth required to maintain these merged states captivated countless players. It remains a landmark title in the history of the shooter genre that defined the joy of power-ups.

Story

In the Space Century, the invasion of the Space Devil Mandler and his army of giant beasts drove humanity to seek refuge on the ocean floor. To reclaim the shining sun and the green earth, humanity formed the Earth recapture organization "Terra Cresta." Brave pilots board the fighter-interceptor "Wing Galibur" and set off on a mission to defeat the Space Devil Mandler and take back the surface.
