Description

Pit-Fighter is an action-fighting game developed by Atari Games and released for arcades by Konami in 1990. The game’s most defining feature is its use of digitized images for all characters, achieving a level of visual realism that was groundbreaking at the time. Players control a cast of unique figures, including former professional wrestlers and martial artists, to compete in brutal, no-holds-barred underground prize fights. Beyond its intuitive control scheme—utilizing an eight-way joystick and three buttons—the game is also fondly remembered for the striking and eccentric Japanese translations found in the local version, such as the infamous "Zangyaku Kōi Teate" (Brutality Bonus) and "Nasake Muyō" (No Mercy) text displays, which have cemented its cult status.
