Description

Developed by Seibu Kaihatsu and released by Tecmo in 1989, this arcade gun-shooting game is set in the United States during the Prohibition era of the 1920s and features a distinctively hard-boiled atmosphere. Players control the protagonist at the bottom of the screen, engaging in thrilling gameplay as they gun down successive waves of enemies—a fast-paced experience that captivated arcade audiences of the day. The game incorporates various design elements to enhance narrative immersion, including dramatic cutscenes between stages. As a title that pursues the thrill of gun action through cinematic direction reminiscent of a film, it remains a valuable entry in the history of retro gaming.

Story

In 1931, Robert King reigned as emperor of the underworld until he was sent to prison by special agent George Phoenix. However, after King is released on bail and goes into hiding, George's girlfriend, Jane, is kidnapped while they are on vacation. To rescue her, George takes up his gun and throws himself into a battle against the mafia.
