Description

Released in May 1987, *World Wars* (known internationally as *Bermuda Triangle*) is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by SNK and Taito. Players pilot the space-time combat vessel "Zigg" to battle mysterious enemies invading history. The game is notable for its use of a rotary joystick (loop lever) and a hybrid health system that combines an energy gauge with a limited number of lives. Spanning nine stages, the game occasionally shifts to rear-scrolling segments to challenge players. A test mode can be accessed by pressing the 1P start button during startup. Please note that on original hardware, the "Bonus Lives" display may differ from the service mode settings depending on how the game has been configured.

Story

Mysterious enemies are attempting to invade human history from across space and time, and it is up to the player to pilot the space-time battleship "ZIG" and stand against them. The battlefield shifts from the modern day to various eras of the past, and players must survive the battles of each age while upgrading their battleship.
