Description

Developed by Toaplan and published by Taito in 1989, Twin Hawk is an arcade shooting game set in a fictionalized 193X wartime era, depicting a squadron’s battle against an invading force. The game is known for its distinct style compared to other Toaplan titles of the time, characterized by a design focused on ground targets and a repetitive musical score. It also features a unique tactical quirk—clinging to the top edge of the screen to progress—which became a common topic of discussion among players. We invite you to look back on this era and experience the tension of a story where a squadron, caught in a surprise attack just before completion, takes flight in their unfinished aircraft.

Story

In the year 193X, as fascist forces moved forward with their plans for global conquest, a small city that had flourished from an oasis was targeted as their experimental model. Driven into a desperate situation by the invasion, the people formed a fighter squadron named "Twin Hawk" to resist. With no time to even wait for their base to be completed, the squadron took flight to stand against the conquering army.
