Castlevania

Released by Konami for arcades in 1988, this title is the reverse port of the immensely popular home console game *Castlevania*. The story follows the young hero Simon as he battles to rescue his bride, Serena, after she is abducted by the resurrected Count Dracula. The game consists of six stages that repeat in a loop. In contrast to its beautiful graphics, the title is characterized by a control scheme distinct from the original home version. Please note that the phenomenon where the background appears black in certain areas of the first stage, which has been confirmed since the game's initial release, has been faithfully reproduced as an original feature of this version.

To rescue his fiancée, who was kidnapped by the Dark Lord Count Dracula, the protagonist Simon sets out for the devil's castle where Dracula dwells. Armed with a legendary whip, Simon journeys into the deep darkness of the castle. Battling the monsters that close in on him, he fights his way toward the top floor where Dracula awaits.
