Description

Released in 1986 by Nihon Bussan for arcades, *Soldier Girl Amazon* is a vertical scrolling shooter. Players control the protagonist warrior, advancing through stages while defeating enemies in a style that was quintessential for the era. The game’s most notable features are its eccentric setting and the distinctive, characteristic graphics and presentation synonymous with Nihon Bussan. It stands as a valuable title that showcases the unusual technical experiments that defined the dawn of the arcade era in the mid-1980s.

Story

In the year 13000 AD, the Galactic Patrol issued a command to the valiant warrior woman Amaterasu to pursue a group of prison escapees who had fled across the stars. The fugitives had gone into hiding on Earth, a world once inhabited by humanity but now transformed into a desolate place ruled by strange beasts and crazed cyborgs. Thrust into a lonely battle, Amaterasu plunges into the harsh battlefield to bring the escapees to justice.
