Description
Released by Visco in March 1990, Ashura Blaster is a vertically scrolling shooter that supports two-player simultaneous gameplay. Players pilot a helicopter using an eight-way joystick and two buttons, with a system that allows them to select one of four different types of bombs at the start of the game. Featuring an orthodox design reminiscent of Toaplan titles from that era, the game was initially intended for overseas markets before receiving a domestic release in Japan. Please note that in the Japanese version, the text on the continue screen does not appear; however, the game can still be resumed normally by inserting credits.
Story
In the year 2020, the anti-government guerrilla organization "Tamas" launched a simultaneous, worldwide invasion. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the security forces deployed the state-of-the-art jet helicopters "Ashura I" and "Ashura II" from the aerial aircraft carrier "Douglas." As an elite operative, you must confront the forces of Tamas that threaten the world.
