As a military exercise to create the ultimate army, the player takes on the role of a simulated enemy masquerading as an extraterrestrial legion, tasked with thoroughly attacking their own allied forces. Conducted as a live-fire drill, the goal is to cultivate more robust armaments and elite soldiers by completely crushing the friendly forces. The story depicts the endless struggle that continues until the ultimate unit, "DonPachi," is finally born.
