Released in the arcades by Konami in February 1987, *Contra* (known as *Gryzor* overseas) is an action-packed war game where elite guerrilla commandos—"Contra"—fight for the survival of humanity. In the year 2633, two fierce warriors are tasked with destroying the "Red Falcon" invaders occupying the Galuga Archipelago, navigating brutal battlefields with digital precision and high-speed controls. Please note that certain behaviors and specifications in the current environment, such as the movement of rotating mines, the handling of specific sprites, and on-screen displays during continue sequences, may differ from the original arcade hardware. In the year 2631, an invasion by mysterious extraterrestrial life forms suddenly began on the Galuga Archipelago off the coast of New Zealand. To protect the peace of the Earth, two elite soldiers of the Earth Marine Corps, Bill and Lance, are dispatched to the island. They infiltrate the harsh combat zone and stand against the alien army to thwart their ambition of destroying the Earth.
