Description

Released in 1987 for the MSX2, *Ash GuinE Story II: Stronghold of the Void* is a notable action-RPG developed by T&E SOFT that served as a flagship title featuring the mascot for Panasonic’s FS-A1 computer. The game follows the protagonist Ash GuinE, an interspecies hero journeying across the planet Nepenthes to reclaim his legacy and seek vengeance against the tyrant Banuutikaras. Utilizing the capabilities of the MSX2, the title features a distinct blend of action-oriented gameplay and robust narrative storytelling typical of the era's sophisticated 8-bit RPGs. A notable technical inclusion for the series is its support for the PAC (Personal Archive Cartridge), allowing players to transfer save data between installments of the trilogy.

Story

Set on the planet Nepentes, which orbits a binary star system, the story follows a young warrior named Ashguine, born of two warring races. After his parents are tragically killed by the ruthless tyrant Banutracus, Ashguine embarks on an epic journey to seek vengeance. Empowered by a mysterious planetary life force known as "Vie," he transforms into a legendary holy warrior. Now, he must infiltrate the imposing Citadel in the Void, the heart of the enemy's power, to challenge Banutracus and fight for the future of his world.
