Description

Released in 1987 for the MSX2, *Girly Block* is a science-fiction action title developed by Compile under the production of Nippon Telenet. Players pilot the titular robotic suit, "Girly Block," through ten challenging stages to rescue the mercenary Jake’s kidnapped partner, the psychic Eruria. The game is historically notable for its integration with "THE LINKS," an early personal computer telecommunications network that allowed users to upload and download player data for ranking and competitive matchups. Featuring character design by Yutaka Izubuchi and planning by Yoji Enokido, this title stands as an early example of experimentation with network-connected gameplay in the home computer market.

Story

As a mercenary named Jake, you must pilot the combat robot, "Girly Block," on a desperate mission to rescue your partner and lover, the psychic Eruria. After being separated during the chaos of war, the two find themselves at the center of a massive conspiracy. Players must navigate ten grueling stages of intense combat, battling overwhelming enemy forces to uncover the truth and secure Eruria's return.
