Description

Released in 1990 by Zain Soft for the MSX2, *Dios* is a command-input text adventure that immerses players in a gritty science-fiction narrative set on a besieged colony planet. As a sophisticated title spanning four 2DD disks, it distinguishes itself through its atmospheric cyberpunk aesthetic and a gripping story involving a desperate mission to restore order against lethal, mysterious extraterrestrial forces. This production stands as a notable example of the narrative complexity and technical ambition achievable on the MSX2 platform during the late 80s and early 90s. Its integration of deep, text-based exploration remains a compelling testament to the golden era of Japanese computer adventures.

Story

The year is 2231, and the colony planet Dios has fallen into chaos after the sudden appearance of a mysterious lifeform that has begun slaughtering the human population. Following the swift and catastrophic defeat of the United Nations Space Monitoring Force sent to contain the threat, the colony faces total destruction. In a desperate bid to restore order to the devastated planet, seven volunteers gather to confront the unknown enemy.
