Description
Based on Masayuki Katayama’s smash-hit 1980s Weekly Young Magazine manga, this title is an ambitious and unique adaptation for the PC-8801 by Game Arts. It introduced a groundbreaking expansion system that allowed players to combine it with the previous game to choose from a massive roster of 24 formidable opponents. The game serves as a valuable historical artifact, capturing the cultural atmosphere of the 80s—right down to the then-cutting-edge automatic mahjong tables appearing in the game's parlor. It is a legendary table game that remains a must-play for both fans of the original manga and those wishing to experience the energy of the 80s mahjong boom.
Story
Set in the quirky world of the mahjong manga "Gwanburaa Jikochuushin-ha," this game follows pro gambler Dorao Mochisugi and his peers as they face off against intense rivals at the mahjong table. This sequel introduces the "Shimokitazawa Octopus Extermination Mode," a mahjong war where players choose a side between the Octopus Army and the Anti-Octopus Army to conquer local parlors. Stepping into the shoes of Dorao, players must use skill, luck, and occasionally rule-bending antics to conquer their eccentric opponents. Against the backdrop of a maturing mahjong scene, players aim to defeat every tough challenger and claim the title of the strongest mahjong master.
