Description

Released by dB-soft in 1985, Lapteck is a brilliant fixed-screen action game that fully utilizes the capabilities of the PC-8801 series. Players control the protagonist, Bicky, with the simple goal of stepping on all the "?" boxes on the floor to clear each stage, though the unique, floating "parabola jump" mechanic truly challenges a player's skill. Despite the cute and comical character designs, the surreal and cold death animations that follow a mistake left a lasting impact on gamers of the era. With its strategic item collection and tense encounters with enemies, the game remains a shining example of 8-bit computer action gaming that has lost none of its charm.

Story

In this action game, you control the protagonist, Bicky, as you traverse a series of stages to step on every "?" box scattered across the floor. The adventure takes place in a world filled with comical characters, contrasted by surreal hazards where you can be swallowed whole or crushed by enemies. Players must master the unique parabolic jump and utilize the special effects of hidden gems and fruits to conquer all 50 stages and bonus rounds.
