Description
Released in 1989, Gaudi: Barcelona no Kaze was a bold departure from Wolf Team’s usual action-oriented catalog, presenting a hardboiled command-based adventure game. Players step into the shoes of intelligence consultant Henry Howard, navigating a complex web of political intrigue in Spain on the eve of the Barcelona Olympics. The game features pioneering mechanics of the era, including the "History Repeat System" (HRS) for reviewing actions and the "Object Pointing System" (OPS) for direct interaction with onscreen elements. With its atmospheric soundtrack utilizing the Sound Board II, this title stands as an ambitious, iconic piece of PC-8801 history.
Story
Set in Spain shortly before the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, this suspense thriller follows Henry Howard, a former Scotland Yard detective turned intelligence consultant. After accepting an invitation from the Spanish Communist Party to help stabilize the volatile political climate in Barcelona, Henry finds himself plunged into a dangerous conspiracy. Far beneath the city's glittering tourist facade, he must navigate threats from terrorist organizations and conflicting political agendas. As events unfold, he becomes ensnared in a mysterious web of fate known as "duende."
