Description

Developed by Square and released in 1988 through Brother Industries’ "TAKERU" software distribution service, Genesis is a landmark science-fiction role-playing game. Players pilot a bipedal mobile weapon, exploring a ruined world with a high degree of freedom in both aerial navigation and combat. This title represents a significant shift in Square’s design philosophy at the time, moving from gritty adventure games toward the anime-inspired robot genre. It remains a fascinating historical document that showcases the experimentation and challenges faced by developers during the dawn of the PC-RPG era.

Story

In the year 2550, humanity, having reached the height of its prosperity in the galaxy, faces sudden annihilation following an assault by an unknown alien legion. In this desperate situation, the protagonist dons the "Armor," a state-of-the-art combat weapon, to stake the fate of the human race. You must embark on a lonely battle to save your home planet and restore peace to the universe.
