Description

Released by MicroCabin in 1987 for the PC-8801, *Seilane* is a fantasy adventure game that stands out as one of the developer’s rare original titles from an era dominated by character-licensed works. The story follows a protagonist on a poignant quest to rescue a kidnapped companion, blending puzzle-solving with a charming, animation-inspired aesthetic. Technically, the game is notable for its support of the PC-88's Sound Board 2, allowing for immersive FM synthesis music and early use of PCM sound effects. Its focus on a gentle, fairytale-like atmosphere, paired with the pioneering use of audio technology, marks *Seilane* as an endearing example of the rich narrative potential in 1980s Japanese computer gaming.

Story

Set in a world where humans and mythical creatures coexist, the story follows a young protagonist who embarks on a perilous journey after his sister, Chris, is kidnapped by the forces of the Demon King Pazzle. After discovering that the local forest animals have been turned into stone by the villain's dark magic, he sets out to rescue his sister and restore peace to the land. Along the way, he encounters a variety of unique creatures and allies who provide guidance and help him navigate through complex puzzles. By overcoming these challenges and unraveling the mysteries of the land, he strives to confront the Demon King and end the spreading threat of darkness.
