Description

Released in December 1988 for the PC-8801, *Dragon Princess* is a notable example of early Japanese "bishōjo" RPGs, originating from a doujin work refined for commercial distribution by Pasoket. The story follows Prince Radia, who transforms into a woman using a magical potion to circumvent a curse, embarking on a quest to rescue his sister from the dragon Digalpu. The game features a distinctive minimalist interface where exploration occurs via a small, secondary map display, accompanied by a strategic combat system that requires targeting specific enemy weak points. As an early title bridging the gap between independent development and commercial software, *Dragon Princess* represents a fascinating curiosity in the niche, experimental landscape of 1980s PC gaming.

Story

When a mysterious fog that petrifies all men descends upon the Kingdom of Lasyl, Prince Radia is forced to ingest a transformation potion to disguise himself as a woman. Empowered by this new form, Radia embarks on a perilous quest into a dangerous labyrinth to rescue his sister, Princess Rofeel, who has been abducted by the dragon Digalpu. As he navigates the treacherous dungeon, he must overcome powerful enemies and mysterious sorcerers to save his kingdom and ultimately confront the truth behind his own destiny.
