PHANTASIE IV -THE BIRTH OF HEROES-

"Fantasy IV: Lineage of Heroes" is an original fourth installment in the series, developed exclusively for the Japanese market by Starcraft. Set 20 years after the previous title, it introduced a revamped interface with mouse support and a unique growth system where players select the parents of their characters to determine their lineage and abilities. While maintaining the traditional feel of classic fantasy RPGs, this title represents a historic pinnacle for the series, having evolved independently as a Japan-only release.

Twenty years after the defeat of the evil Nicademus, a brief period of peace had settled over the land of Scandor. However, when a ship bound for Skull Island goes missing, the people of Scandor realize a new threat has emerged. Players lead the descendants of heroes on an adventurous journey to confront the dark fate creeping back into the world.
