When a mysterious disaster causes the town of Kathtom to sink into the ground, the warrior Rance and his companion Sill Plain are tasked with investigating the event. They soon discover that the incident was orchestrated by four young witches, leading Rance to set out into the ruins to put an end to their rebellion. Although he claims to be working for the sake of the town's peace, Rance's true motivations remain as self-serving and reckless as ever. As he navigates through dangerous dungeons filled with traps and monsters, he must confront these powerful spellcasters to resolve the crisis.
