While conducting a scientific experiment on hyperons, astrophysicist Ryu Angel is involved in an accident that causes him to time-travel to "Minervaton," a realm existing before the Big Bang. In this ancient universe, peace is maintained by a sacred artifact known as the Mirror of Laval; however, the relic has been stolen and hidden within the ominous Dark Castle by the dark apostle Gruu. Tasked by the creator god Gallian to rectify this crisis, Ryu must assume the role of a light warrior to retrieve the mirror before the darkness consumes all of existence. By overcoming numerous trials and exploring this alien world, he seeks to fulfill his destiny of preserving the realm and securing the creation of his own future universe.
