Description
Released in 1985 for the PC-8801, *Aoki Ookami to Shiroki Meshika* is the inaugural title in Koei’s acclaimed historical simulation series. Players step into the role of Temujin, the legendary Genghis Khan, tasked with unifying the Mongol tribes before expanding their reach to conquer Asia and Europe. This pioneering strategy game challenged players to manage both territorial development and military campaigns, while introducing the distinctive "Ordo" system for fostering a bloodline of successors to solidify their reign. Its intricate focus on governance and historical scope established the foundation for the influential grand strategy genre in Japan.
Story
In this historical simulation, players step into the role of Temujin, the legendary hero of the 12th-century Mongolian steppe, with the initial goal of uniting the warring Mongol tribes. The scope of the game extends far beyond the unification of Mongolia, challenging players to expand their dominion across all of Asia and eventually toward the conquest of the European continent. As a sovereign ruler, you must manage your territories, command armies in strategic warfare, and cultivate a dynasty. By raising heirs and securing your bloodline, you aim to establish an unshakable empire that can stand the test of history.
