Description
Released in 1989 for the PC-8801, *Aksh -Kagero no Jidai o Koete-* is a distinctive adventure game developed by Wolf Team that served as a lighthearted spin-off to the *Arcus* series. The game features a unique crossover narrative where protagonists Jeda and Picto journey across different time periods to fix dimensional rifts, collecting items and encountering characters from numerous other Wolf Team titles. Its engaging gameplay relies on switching between the two leads to solve puzzles, complemented by a soundtrack rooted in the studio's legacy. As a quintessential example of Japanese PC gaming in the late 80s, the title remains notable for its innovative use of character-driven humor and its celebration of the developer's broader catalog.
Story
Jedah Chaff and Picto A. Piyont are tasked with repairing rifts that have emerged throughout the dimensions. To restore balance, the duo must embark on a quest across time—visiting the past, present, and future—to recover three sacred swords and scattered CDs. During their travels, they encounter a wide array of characters from across the Wolf Team game library. This crossover adventure relies on switching between the two protagonists, each with unique reactions and approaches to solving the various puzzles they face.
