Description

Released in 1989 for the PC-8801, *Arcus II: Silent Symphony* is a landmark fantasy RPG from Wolf Team that continues the saga of the Arcusas kingdom a decade after its original heroes vanished. This sequel departed from the first game's 3D navigation, adopting a traditional top-down perspective while introducing a sophisticated combat system that allowed for strategic individual limb targeting. Featuring striking art direction by Narumi Kakinouchi and a dynamic score by Motoi Sakuraba and his collaborators, the game remains a memorable piece of late-80s Japanese computer gaming history. It stands as an ambitious tale of legacy, tasking the next generation of heroes with uncovering the truth behind a brewing otherworldly conflict.

Story

Ten years after the climactic battles of the original game, the legendary heroes who helped bring peace to the kingdom of Arcusas—led by King Jedah—suddenly vanish without a trace. Jedah's son, a young swordsman named Pixis, embarks on a new quest with his companions to uncover the truth behind his father's disappearance. As they travel, they encounter the children of the former heroes and gradually uncover a complex web of intrigue involving spirits and demons. This epic fantasy tale follows these youths as they confront their destinies and face an unforeseen, looming threat to their world.
