Description

Released by Telenet Japan in 1988, this title is a profound action RPG that showcased cutting-edge sound quality through its support for the state-of-the-art Sound Board 2. Set in the medieval Middle East, the game explores the gritty and unconventional path of Sadler, an elite warrior belonging to the legendary "Assassin" order. With its bold integration of real-world history and religious themes, the game was considered highly controversial for its time, yet its daring narrative continues to leave a powerful impact today. It stands as a valuable piece of gaming history, perfectly capturing the bold, boundary-pushing spirit of 1980s PC gaming through its blend of exhilarating action and a deep, complex story.

Story

In an era of deep turmoil, the Saracen Empire has split into orthodox and heretical factions, leading to intense oppression and conflict. After the fanatical "Assassin" sect fails to topple the Seljuk dynasty with four failed assassination attempts in Baghdad, they deploy their greatest warrior, Sadler, to finish the mission. As the world teeters on the brink of a legend foretelling a battle against two ancient monsters eight centuries later, Sadler begins his brutal and lonely quest.
