Description

Released by Enix in 1987, this masterpiece of sci-fi horror adventure puts players aboard a space cruiser in a desperate battle against an unknown lifeform. The game brought together industry legends of the time, including scenario writer Koji Miya, programmer Geimu Kyojin, artist Shintaro Majima, and composer Koichi Sugiyama. Its cinematic narrative and immersive, heavy soundtrack—which pushed the PC-8801’s sound chip to its limits—remain highly regarded as a milestone in storytelling for home computer games. Spread across three 5.25-inch floppy disks, this vast, tense cosmic drama continues to captivate players to this day.

Story

The story takes place in the year 2061 aboard the massive space station "Jesus," which is currently on its way back to Earth after completing a mission to explore Halley's Comet. During the analysis of samples collected from the comet, a mysterious and lethal extraterrestrial lifeform suddenly appears, and crew members begin to fall victim to the creature one by one. Players take on the role of Takehiko, a young pilot forced to confront this alien threat while trapped in the claustrophobic nightmare of deep space. You must engage in a breathless struggle against an unseen enemy, rescue the surviving crew, and find a way to return safely to Earth.
