Description

Released by Nihon Falcom in 1984, "Demon's Ring" shocked the industry with its revolutionary "instant screen display" technology. By moving away from the common linear drawing process of the time to rendering graphics in roughly one second, the game drastically deepened the player’s immersion. Billed as a "European-style electronic adventure novel," it features a dark fantasy aesthetic with a strong occult influence and a weighty narrative focused on challenging the Demon King Salon. Its journey through cursed houses and subterranean labyrinths remains a vital historical document of Nihon Falcom's early occult-themed era.

Story

King Crowley of the Eremia Kingdom, destroyed by the legendary Demon King Salon, entrusted his youngest son, Dumlin, to the sage Roibus. Upon coming of age, Dumlin learns the secret of his birth and the truth behind the fall of his kingdom. To avenge his father and restore Eremia, he embarks on an epic quest to defeat the evil Demon King Salon. The story unfolds as a dark fantasy, pulling the protagonist through cursed manors and underground caverns filled with occult mysteries.
