Description

Released by Victor Musical Industries in 1991, Prontis is a command-selection adventure game celebrated for its tense science-fiction suspense. Developed under the lead of Koji Miyabi and based on his original scenario, the game is famously noted in PC gaming history for sharing structural similarities with Jesus 2. The story begins with the recovery of a mysterious drifting container, leading to a series of grizzly incidents aboard a claustrophobic ship that pull the player into a world of terror and mystery. Today, it remains an exceptionally rare title that captures the creative spirit of the PC-8801 era.

Story

Takuya Iwami, a racer headed to Los Angeles for a moto-triathlon, boards the passenger ship "Galileo" only to find the crew recovering a mysterious container from the sea. Shortly after, the ship becomes a place of paranoia and terror as passengers and crew die under inexplicable circumstances, leaving survivors to wonder who among them is being controlled by the parasitic "Prontis." Working with a Earth Defense Force investigation team, the protagonist must fight for survival as the scale of the mystery shifts from the confined ship to the vast depths of space.
