Description
Released in 1986 for the NEC PC-8801, "Luna City Murder Case" is a command-input adventure game set in a futuristic sci-fi metropolis. The game's defining feature is the dual-bodied protagonist, allowing players to swap between male and female forms to progress through the investigation. It was an ambitious title that incorporated kanji characters, which was rare for adventure games at the time. Today, it remains a memorable piece of retro gaming history that symbolizes the creative diversity of the PC-8801 software era.
Story
The story takes place in the year 2216 within the futuristic Luna City, where the mayor, Bob Norman, has been found murdered. Deemed too complex for local police, the investigation is handed over to the Federal Bureau of Special Investigation (F.B.S.I.). Assigned to the case is G.G. (Griff Gold), a unique "dual-bodied" individual who shares a single consciousness between a male body, "Griff," and a female body, "Glass." Players must switch between the two bodies as the situation requires to uncover the truth hidden deep within the city.
